What is FASTag?

FASTag is a device that employs Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for making toll payments directly from the prepaid account linked to it. It is affixed on the windscreen of your vehicle and enables you to drive through toll plazas, without stopping for cash transactions. The tag has a validity of 5 years and after purchasing, you only need to recharge/ top up the tag as per your requirement.

What are the benefits of using FASTag?

Which are the roads where the tag can be used?

FASTag is presently operational at 320+ toll plazas across national and state highways. More toll plazas will be brought under the FASTag program in the future. You may see the list of plazas in the 'Active Toll Plazas' section.

What are the charges for FASTag?

FASTag has a onetime Fee of ₹200 including service tax. The refundable security deposit depends on the vehicle type. Please check the 'Fees and Charges' section for details.

How can I buy FASTag?

You may visit any of the Point of Sale (POS) locations at Toll Plazas / IDFC Bank Sales offices to get your tag account created. You may call our customer care @ 18002669970 to know more details.

What are the documents needed to apply for FASTag?

You will need to carry original as well as copy of your KYC document

  1. You need to submit the following documents along with the application for FASTag:
  2. Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle.
  3. Passport size photograph of the vehicle owner
  4. KYC documents as per the category of the vehicle owner:

Our representative will provide you an application form, which you need fill and submit.

All required documents for FASTag shoold be in the name of the owner of the vehicle. If car owner is not present at the time of application, driver will need to submit his photo ID proof.

A valid driving license woold be sufficient for Address & ID proof.

Do I need to use any specific lane at the toll plaza for FASTag?

Yes, you will have to use the lanes demarcated for FASTag.

How can I recharge my tag account?

You may recharge your TAG account by making payment through cheque or online through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ NEFT/ RTGS or through Net Banking.

How can I change my login Id and password?

For one account Login Id cannot be changed. However, password can be updated from “Change Password” option after login your account. “Change Password” button is available under every menu item.

If I do not remember my password, then how can I login my account?

Password can be reset from the “Forget Password” option if you do not remember your current password. Forget password button is available before login your account.

How can I change my contact number/ address?

How can I purchase new tags?

Please contact our Agent/ Distributor. You can also make enquiry on number mentioned under “Service Request” Page to further know the locations of “Retail Outlets” where you can purchase the new tags.

Can I recharge my one Tag from my another Tag?

Yes, it is possible. You can recharge your one Tag from another Tag money under “Funds Transfer Services”

Is there any minimum balance need to keep in Tag?

Yes, a particular minimum amount is necessary in every Tag depending on its vehicle class or product subscribed. If Tag has amount is lesser than the minimum balance, it will not work and marked in “Low Balance Tag” category.

Is Tag recharge from customer login safe?

Yes, Tag recharge is absolutely safe. Transaction will be done through a secure Electronic Payment gateway.

If I have sold my old vehicle but want to use same Tag for my new vehicle, so how can I update vehicle details?

Same tag can’t be used as it is tamper proof. Fresh issuance required

How do I remove the Tag from my account, if I am selling my vehicle?

Same as above. Customer will need to request replacement/refund

What happen if my Tag got damaged in any accident?

Please contact your Agent/ Distributor. You can also make enquiry on number mentioned under “Service Request” Page to further know the locations of “Retail Outlets” who can replace the damaged tags.

Is there any fee for Tag Replacement?

Yes, one time replacement fees of ₹ 200 is applicable for every Tag replacement.

To whom I need to contact in case of any issue with my Tag?

How can I check the list of transactions for my Tag/ vehicle?

A detailed list of transactions for the associated Tags/ vehicle is available under “Account Statement”. This list can be downloaded in excel also.

How can I check the list of transactions for my all vehicles?

Corporate Customers can download Pool Account statement as well*.

How can I deactivate my Tag or close my FasTag account?

Please contact your Agent/ Distributor. You can also make enquiry on number mentioned under “Service Request” Page to further know the locations of “Retail Outlets” who can deactivate a Tag.

Is there any account closing or deactivation fee?

Currently there is no account closing fee applicable.

At time of Account closure, is any money refundable?

Security amount and if there is any money left in Tag, that will be refundable at time of account closure.

What are the documents needed to apply for FASTag?

Since the FASTag is linked to an account, KYC documentation would be required as per the KYC policy of the Issuer Bank. Apart from the KYC documentation, you need to submit Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle along with the application for FASTag.

If the FASTag is linked to a prepaid account, then it can be issued as per below defined limits:

1) Limited KYC FASTag account holder 2) Full KYC FASTag account holder
This type of FASTag cannot have more than Rs. 20,000*/- limit in their FASTag (Prepaid) account. The monthly reload limit is also capped to Rs. 20,000/-.
Requirements: Minimum KYC details (as per Issuer bank policy), vehicle RC Copy, Photo of the customer.
*Limits prescribed by RBI till 30th December
This type of FASTag account cannot have more than Rs. 1 Lakh limit in their FASTag (prepaid) account. There is no monthly reload cap in this account.
Requirements: Full KYC details (as per Issuer bank policy), vehicle RC Copy, Photo of the customer.

 

Can I avail a monthly pass?

Monthly pass for a toll plaza will be issued at that particular toll plaza or the POS locations put by the Acquirer Bank of the toll plaza. If you are registered tag holder, you need to visit the toll plaza [or the Acquirer Bank POS locations] and request for the particular pass scheme. You need to pay for the selected pass scheme by cash or card to the operator. Once the payment is approved, the operator will activate the affixed tag for the pass scheme.

Note: There is no need to purchase any other RFID tag to avail a monthly pass scheme at any toll plaza. The FASTag already purchased by you will be configured for the pass at the toll plaza.

 

Can FASTag be used for passage through toll plazas on the state highways?

FASTag is presently operational at 346+ toll plazas across National Highways. The system is inter-operable and the same FASTag can be used across all toll plazas under the NETC program. More toll plazas will be brought under the NETC program in the future. You may see the list of plazas in the 'Active Toll Plazas' section. Please visit www.ihmcl.com for more details.

I reside within 10 km of a particular toll plaza. Do I need to take FASTag to get the concessions available for local vehicles?

You can purchase a FASTag to avail the concessions. Once you purchase the FASTag, you will need to submit the required documents (proof of residence) at the Acquiring Bank POS location to validate your residence within 10 km of a particular plaza. Once it is verified, you may avail the concession on the FASTag assigned to your vehicle.

In case of harassment/ misconduct/ discourteous/ rude behaviour of toll collection staff, what should we do?

In case of such a scenario, a complaint is to be lodged with respective Project Directors at the toll plaza. Further, the incident may be reported to us via our email at etc.nodal@ihmcl.com.

Are old Rs 500 & Rs 1000 notes accepted for RFID recharge?

As per latest RBI circular, old notes of Rs 500 only can be accepted for topup of RFID tags. This will be accepted till 15th Dec 2016
